Farmers & hunters can have weapons but to do that you have to get a hunter license. To get it, you must pass tons of different permissions like from medical commission, police, psychologist & so on... To pass all those procedures is almost unreal, so most of people that wants to get that license they just bye it for a bribe without waisting their time.
Besides here we dont have a market of "civilian versions" In Russia there is just no such a term. If you want to bye a weapon you can bye rather hunting rifle(like double-barreled shotgun) or a model of something. We just dont have a law by witch this weapon is "combat" & that one is "civilian"

The AK 74 is a great weapon, but it was designed in 1947 & since that time modern combat has changed a lot. It just cant compete with modern assault rifles like HK G36 or Tavor TAR-21. World is changing, war is changing, so a good weapons should be changing too.

btw. I was allays curious why many people in U.S. call Kalashnikov- Krinkov??? Smile

The SCAR 16 is the civilian version that is able to be purchased in the US. Its around 3,000 dollars. I could buy a Colt M4 for 1,000 dollars. Or I have also been thinking about a larger caliber weapon like a Springfield M1A socom II. That weapon would be roughly 2,000-3,000 american dollars. And the larger caliper would make it more versitle, I could use it for hunting.

The Russians make a few good weapons that are on the market here in the USA. There is the Krinkov which is popular with gangsters, Razz. The Saiga 12 which comes with a crappy plastic butt stock that breaks really easy, but the mechanics of the weapon are sound, A friend of mine has one of those. The AK 74 is a great re design of the AK 47. Then there is the wild Bizon 9mm sub machinegun with its circular magazine. Don't know much about that one other than its strange feed design. You know the shittiest AK 47s for sale in the USA are the ones that are made right here in the USA. lol. The Russian, Yugo, Romanian, and Bulgarian AK 47s are the most desired ones.

So in Russia a farmer cannot even own a rifle or shotgun to kill wolves, bears, or snakes? How does he protect his livestock?

Are you nuts??? Of course take SCAR!!! Everyone already have Colt, but SCAR is rather new weapon. Besides it looks cool. Not like AUG, but still...

Russians are forbidden to have guns or any other weapons.
In Russia everybody thinks that russian weapon is the best in the world Sad
Since AK-47 we haven't invented anything worthwhile.
sucks.

btw is it SCAR L or H?

Jim is short for James. Like Carl for Charles or Bill for William. I have never been called James by any of my peers. Only people that don't know me and are reading my name from a paper refer to me as James. Razz FN is great. I am currently shopping for an assault rifle and I cannot choose between a generic M4 or a FN SCAR. The price difference will probobaly choose for me. What are the gun laws like in Russia?

Its kind of complicated to explain. When you sign a contract to the US military it is an 8 year contract. My contract was like this, 6 years active and 2 years inactive. I am currently in my 2 years inactive. Pretty much I am a normal civilian except my name is in a pool. The government can use this pool to bolster troop numbers if needed. My 8 year contract is up in May. Most likely I will not renew my contract. There you have it in a nutshell.

Good morning, my name is Jim. I am 26 and from the United States. I am married with no kids. I spent 6 years in the US Marines and I did two tours in Iraq. My first trip to Iraq was in 2003 right when the war started and my second in 2007. My MOS was 0331 Infantry Machineguns. I carried a 240 Gulf which is actually manufactured in Belgium by FN. Currently I am going to school to learn about automobiles. My weekdays are pretty busy so most likely you guys will only see me on the weekends. I'll update my profile pic and that jazz on Sat. Later ladies.
